Call for Judges for the Annual Meeting in Cairns, Australia, July 9 - 14, 2006

The long-term viability of wetland science depends heavily on student training. The annual Student Paper competition provides a venue for students to demonstrate the quality of their research and training, and an opportunity for the wetland science community to provide feedback to students early in their careers. The program is popular with students, 91 of whom participated in 2005 in Charleston !

We generally have just two-thirds of the judges required to ensure that every student's paper or poster is scored by at least three people. Recognizing that each judge interprets the criteria for a good presentation differently, it is best to have at least three opinions to avoid an undue element of chance in the outcome of the competition. Please consider judging (unless you are a student yourself!). You will have an opportunity to choose papers or posters that do not conflict with your itinerary at the meeting
